The K9 Pro Trauma Kit expands the K9 Basic kit with additional life-saving equipment designed to manage severe extremity bleeding and penetrating chest injuries in working dogs.
Details
The K9 Pro kit builds upon the K9 Basic configuration and includes essential equipment for managing the most common field injuries in working dogs. The kit focuses on hemorrhage control, wound coverage and temperature monitoring.
The combination of Z-fold compressed gauze and pressure bandages allows effective wound packing and compression. The sterile gauze pad and self-adhering elastic wrap support wound coverage and dressing stabilization, while the impregnated dressing prevents adhesion to the wound surface.
An emergency blanket and digital thermometer are also included to help handlers monitor body temperature and manage hypothermia or hyperthermia during field operations.
The Pro configuration adds two critical trauma management tools.
A K9 tourniquet enables rapid control of severe extremity bleeding when pressure bandages alone are insufficient. The design accommodates the anatomical characteristics of canine limbs and allows quick application in emergency situations.
The chest seal is intended for temporary management of penetrating chest injuries. By sealing the wound it helps prevent air from entering the chest cavity and reduces the risk of pneumothorax.
The K9 Pro kit therefore provides a more advanced trauma capability for police, military and tactical K9 units operating in demanding environments.
